A workhorse for years, the Kawasaki KLR 650 has always been a great bike for getting into dual sport riding. The newest version of the KLR sees the bike getting an updated water-cooled 652cc single cylinder engine that now incorporates EFI.
This required us to update and improve our exhaust option for the big single cylinder Kawasaki. We stayed with our workhorse for off-road, our RS-2 Race Series then refined the baffle and tail pipe to optimize the power for EFI. The results are amazing with a massive weight loss of 7.1 lbs. the KLR not only has more useable power it handles much better with the removal of all the weight out back.
Speaking of performance the new KLR enjoys some big performance with our RS-2. While doing our off-road development, we were able to make massive gains in the middle of the power where the big cylinder engine spends most of its time making the KLR more fun and predictable. Our R&D team was able to gain power across the entire spectrum, boosting the peak horsepower by 7.1% while the peak torque was upped by 5.9%! RS-2 for the KLR comes with a USFS approved spark arrestor installed. Get ready to have fun!
Look for the RS-2 for the 2022 KLR650 to be shipping in February 2022.
